A once a month adult only craft party

Always the second Friday evening of the month. People bring their crafts or makes or painting and we hang out together and work.

Started in 2018, we wanted to build a community for makers to come together. The benefits are many:

  • gives you a break from regular life to try new hobbies.

  • encourages people to create beautiful things.

  • good for your mental health and wellness.

We all run it together, everyone helps out putting the tables and chairs away at the end. It's our group and we share ideas and help each other out in all sorts of ways. There is a very wide range of abilities, some are brilliant and make exquisite things, but most of us are learning and trying things out or just carving out time to sew on those buttons that need doing or make the odd gift that we saw on Pinterest.

Second Friday Evening Get Togethers
On the second Friday evening of the month
The Format
Bring your project and do it with us. Sign in and pop some money in the box. Come for however long you want. We normally do a welcome/notices so everyone knows what is coming up. Please help by putting your table and chair back when you leave, someone will show you.
It probably takes a few MIMs to make friends but you can sit quietly and make or chat to other people and ask them about their craft or ask for help with yours. Ask one of the people with MIM badges if you need help with anything.
It is an evening thing, not appropriate for children. We do a lot of running with scissors.
Adults Only
What projects can I bring?
Stuck for ideas or not sure whether your project is okay to bring? You can literally bring anything, but here is a list of things people have brought in the past: sewing (hand and machine), crochet, fly-tying, knitting, sewing scout badges on, glueing things, doing a photo album, making a death star, pyrography, making survival ropes, painting, photoshopping or other laptop work (we have wifi), sugar craft, paper craft, making gift cards, making a wreath, embroidery, making popcorn bags, making lavender bags, sketching, water colour, lithoprinting and colouring.
Online During the Pandemic
We have been getting together from home via zoom over the pandemic. So no need for masks or lateral flow tests, just log in wherever you're for free for now. Link is on the homepage
